Bespak is looking for Apprentice Toolmakers for the King's Lynn site, PE30 2JJ. The salary for this apprenticeship is £26,500 plus a discretionary annual bonus. Our generous benefits package includes 28 days leave plus bank holidays, 8% company pension contribution to employees 3%, onsite parking and medical / dental / health / life assurance.
Working Pattern – Mon to Fri – 8am to 4pm – 1 day a week will be at The College of West Anglia in Wisbech, PE13 2JE. The start date for this role is September 2026.
Apprenticeship Standard – Machining Technician Level 3
Entry Requirements: 5 x GCSE grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and a science or a relevant Level 2/3 engineering qualification with a Maths and English grade 4 or above (or Level 2 functional skills).
In this hands-on engineering apprenticeship, you will embark on a journey to become a skilled Toolmaker, focusing on the design, manufacture, and maintenance of precision tooling. Your journey will involve active participation in training, completing coursework, and record-keeping in a training logbook. You will learn to interpret engineering drawings, operate precision machinery such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines. You will also utilize CAD/CAM software, while assisting experienced toolmakers and following guidance from mentors and managers. You will proactively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and contribute to the efficiency of manufacturing processes.
As an Apprentice Toolmaker your duties will include:
- Attend and participate in all training provided.
- Complete coursework and assessments for apprenticeship qualification.
- Maintain a detailed training logbook and portfolio of work.
- Follow instructions from mentors and the management team.
- Assist toolmakers in design and manufacturing tasks.
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM, and precision machinery.
