This role involves surveying, costing, planning, executing, and managing a wide range of maintenance works across multiple commercial properties. You would be expected to manage various trades including groundworks, surfacing, painting and decorating, glazing, roofing, electrical works, access control, CCTV, and other related services.

The position requires strong organisational and technical capabilities, including:

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously across sites in the South East and South West
  • Preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Coordinating subcontractors and overseeing works on site
  • Handling day-to-day operational challenges across a wide range of disciplines

A key aspect of the role is developing and maintaining client relationships, with the aim of building and sustaining a consistent portfolio of work to meet required turnover targets.

We are looking for an individual who demonstrates the following:

  • A high level of integrity, honesty, and dedication to client service
  • A trade-based background (e.g. plumbing, electrical, painting & decorating), or experience as a Building Manager / Facilities Manager / Project Manager looking to move into a contractor environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good IT proficiency, particularly in Excel and Word, with CRM experience being advantageous
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a fast‑paced and varied workload
  • A self‑motivated and proactive approach, as the role is largely remote, with travel to sites required as necessary
  • Willingness to travel across the region, including longer distances where required
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage client expectations effectively

The role offers a great deal of autonomy and responsibility, supported by a collaborative team environment, with weekly team catch‑ups held at our Tilbury office.

BES Services specialises in commercial property maintenance, working primarily with large property management companies responsible for extensive portfolios on behalf of pension funds and major asset owners. Our aim is to provide a reliable, responsive service that ensures properties are always maintained to the highest standards.

Working Arrangements

Standard hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. However, due to the reactive nature of the work, flexibility is essential, and hours may extend depending on travel and client needs. Work is a mix of remote working, site visits, and client meetings. This can be all over the South East, South West, London, Buckinghamshire, etc. It depends which project is assigned to you. Weekly team catch‑up every Monday at our Tilbury office.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum. Quarterly commission structure. Mileage and expenses reimbursed. IT equipment provided. 28 days annual leave (including UK bank holidays). Enrolment into the workplace pension scheme in line with government guidelines.
