XEIAD is a specialist engineering inspection consultancy delivering high‑quality inspections and assessments on critical infrastructure assets.
Using specialist access techniques such as rope access, diving and confined space working, their expert engineers inspect structures including bridges, tunnelsand culverts, providingreliable insight to help asset owners manage risk andmaintainsafety.
This role requiresa combination ofhomebased working and working from one of our offices – Manchester or Ilkeston.
What will you be doing?
As a Technical Estimator for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you willlead on the scope evaluation, resource estimation and supplier engagement for infrastructure investigation, inspectionand surveying works.
You will utilise your existingtechnical and operationalknowledge toinform, manage and manipulate estimating processes.
You will also
- Prepareaccurateestimates, tenders, quotationsand bids in line with statutory, client and XEIAD standards.
- Develop risk registers, projectprogrammesand operational plans to inform labour, plantand material costs.
- Engage with operational teams, clientsand the supply chain toobtain competitive subcontractor quotes.
- Carry outpre‑tenderplanning, desktop studies, sitevisitsand supplier engagement.
- Present commercial estimates at bid reviews, providingclear insight and recommendations.
- Ensure that bid management data on our systems is accurately recorded and updated whenrequired.
- Support effective handovers tothe operational team following award of a contract.

To join our team, you will need
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering/Surveying/Project Management or Bridge Inspection competency (e. g. BICS/STE4/STE7).
- Hold IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Previousexperience in engineering/examining or project management in the infrastructure industry.
- Experienced and competent in the use of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of leading teams and managing complex programmes of work across structural inspections, investigationsand surveys.
- UK Driving License.
