Locations: This role requires national travel and candidates ideally located in/around: London, Peterborough, Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds.
What will you be doing?
As a Structures Examiner for Inspire Structures, part of British Engineering Services Group, you will independently plan, undertake and report on structural examinations across a range of sites nationwide. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant infrastructure while representing the company positively at all times.
- Plan site examinations, identifying risks and ensuring safe working practices.
- Carry out site examinations to determine structural condition.
- Compile and submit accurate condition reports.
- Where qualified, undertake specialist examinations such as confined space or industrial rope access.
- Undertake the duties of PIC (Person in Charge) and STL (Site Team Leader).
- Maintain accurate HSQE records and champion safety, wellbeing, quality and efficiency.
- Mentor and support Trainee Examiners.

To join our team, you will need:
- A full STE4 competency.
- A STE7 competency and a professional engineering qualification such as Engineering Technician ICE are desirable but not mandatory – we can support you through this training.
- A valid COSS competency.
- An IRATA Rope Access Level 1 qualification, or willingness to complete this training.
- Medium-risk confined space trained, or willing to complete the training.
- Solid experience in structure examinations with the ability to plan and undertake examinations independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to travel nationally.
- Be medically fit for rail work and hold the appropriate railway medical.
- Full UK Driving License.
