Responsibilities
- Undertake structure examination duties independently.
- Liaise with clients regarding day‑to‑day delivery and enabling works.
- Coordinate a small team to deliver an annual programme of work.
- Maintain up‑to‑date programmes, progress lists, and highlight risks to delivery.
- Identify and arrange examination methods, including track access.
- Ensure the timely and efficient production of condition reports.
- Undertake quality audits and produce feedback reports.
- Mentor and support Trainee Examiners and Examiners.

Qualifications
- A full STE4 competency.
- A valid COSS competency.
- An IRATA Rope Access Level 1 qualification, or willingness to complete this training.
- Medium‑risk confined space trained, or willingness to complete the training.
- Extensive experience coordinating and delivering complex structure examinations and producing high‑quality technical reports.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and support Examiners and Trainee Examiners.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to travel nationally.
- Medically fit for rail work and hold the appropriate railway medical.
- Full UK Driving License.
- A STE7 competency and a professional engineering qualification such as Engineering Technician ICE are desirable but not mandatory – we can support you through this training.
