This role will be based at our Manufacturing site in Cowes, Isle of Wight.
What will you be doing?
- Develop mechanical design concepts, models, and detailed drawings to meet application and customer requirements.
- Ensure mechanical suitability of equipment for intended applications and operating environments.
- Prepare manufacturing instructions for mechanical aspects of customer and internal projects.
- Support quotation activities by providing mechanical input, including quality assurance considerations.
- Investigate mechanical design issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Adapt or design bespoke equipment where standard solutions are unavailable or unsuitable.
- Support production teams with solutions for manufacturing, testing, and calibration requirements.
- Visit customer sites when high technical input is required, both within the UK and internationally.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will get:

To join our team, you will need:
- A qualification in Mechanical, Design, CAD or related subject
- Experience with CAD, ideally Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor
- Demonstrated interest in mechanical design, including relevant extracurricular or practical experience
- Experience managing CAD data using systems such as Autodesk Vault.
- Competent in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), supported by validated hand calculations.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including stress/strain and material selection.
- Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
