The Health and Safety Apprentice Technician will be based full time in our Ilkeston office and will complete an apprenticeship in Health & Safety as part of the role.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety (H&S) administration, providing support to the Operations and Planning Teams to meet H&S requirements.
  • Carry out general administration of H&S related databases and systems.
  • Create and update risk assessment, PPE & equipment records.
  • General office administration duties.
  • Fire warden and first aid duties.
  • Periodic depot and site safety visits and inspections.
  • Contributing towards the creation of monthly Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reports detailing our waste, energy consumption and transportation usage in order to reduce our environmental impact.
  • Development of HSQE presentations using information from HSQE statistics.
  • Promote safe working practices at all times and actively participate in safety initiatives providing support to others as required.

  • To be tech savvy and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, in particular using Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.
  • To be flexible and agile, able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Confidence to work on your own (once training has been provided, of course!).
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines.
