Our specialist team are experts not only in completing the most thorough inspections on critical structures such as railway bridges, but also in accessing some of the most challenging locations.
The Health and Safety Apprentice Technician will be based full time in our Ilkeston office and will complete an apprenticeship in Health & Safety as part of the role.
What will you be doing?
- Responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety (H&S) administration, providing support to the Operations and Planning Teams to meet H&S requirements.
- Carry out general administration of H&S related databases and systems.
- Create and update risk assessment, PPE & equipment records.
- General office administration duties.
- Fire warden and first aid duties.
- Periodic depot and site safety visits and inspections.
- Contributing towards the creation of monthly Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reports detailing our waste, energy consumption and transportation usage in order to reduce our environmental impact.
- Development of HSQE presentations using information from HSQE statistics.
- Promote safe working practices at all times and actively participate in safety initiatives providing support to others as required.

- To be tech savvy and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, in particular using Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.
- To be flexible and agile, able to adjust to changing priorities.
- Confidence to work on your own (once training has been provided, of course!).
- Capable of working to tight deadlines.
