Our specialists are experts in conducting thorough inspections of structures such as railway bridges, often accessing challenging locations through abseiling, diving, and other techniques.

To be considered for this role as a Bridge Examiner / Inspector, you should reside in the Outer London area, preferably near Slough or Reading, and be willing to travel nationally and work unsociable hours when required.

What will you be doing?

As a Bridge Examiner / Inspector at BES Infrastructure, you will ensure our clients\’ infrastructure is safe and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for completing Structural Inspections, Investigations, and Surveys on various civil engineering assets across multiple infrastructure categories including, but not limited to, Highways, Rail, Aviation, Utilities, Ports, and Harbours.

You Will

  • Use specialist access equipment to inspect structures throughout the UK according to technical standards.
  • Lead the delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations, and Surveys.
  • Participate in pre-work planning activities, including site visits, liaising with landowners, and reviewing safe systems of work.
  • Prepare inspection reports and produce drawings using CAD.
  • Work collaboratively within a team on railway and highway infrastructure projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience as a Bridge Examiner or Inspector.
  • Knowledge of Rail and Highway Inspection Regulations.
  • IRATA qualification (preferably Rope Access Supervisor L3).
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Full UK Driving License.
