Bertrandt is an independent and international development service provider with automotive expertise. We focus on digitalization, e-mobility and autonomous systems for the automotive, aerospace and mechanical engineering sectors and support the development of tailored solutions worldwide. The role involves working with our OEM customer on site as a Vehicle Architecture Engineer to manage a package hardpoint compliance and geometric integration project for an ongoing vehicle development programme.
Location: Crewe, CW1 3PL
Responsibilities:
- Check sub-system design solutions for compliance with the vehicle architecture layout, considering dimensional, mass balance, occupant position, etc., and review the mechanical arrangement for geometrical compatibility.
- Report status against vehicle-level targets for vision, safety, functionality, and related metrics.
- Act as the primary point of contact for PHP compliance issues within the customer’s contextual design team.
- Facilitate cross-functional resolution of geometric issues through contact, clash and clearance analysis.
- Generate reports and deliver status updates based on these reports at multiple meeting forums as required.
- Ensure all data is loaded and analyzed in context using the formal, configured PLM data structure.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience using CATIA V5 and Siemens Teamcenter to work on large, complex assemblies within a DMU environment.
- Experience of CATIA V5 in a Vehicle Architecture role.
- Proven ability to manage CAD/PLM business processes.
- Understanding of the product lifecycle process and design maturity conditions.
- Ability to prepare professionally for DMU reviews and action recording.
- Ability to identify and engage with key stakeholders and communicate and influence at multiple levels within the business.
- Ability to be an independent and proactive actor in the interests of the project, constantly identifying the most relevant business priorities.
- Experience in leading effective meetings (cross-functional reviews and status report-outs).
- Flexibility to the demands of the working environment; prior experience in Bentley product development is an advantage.
Position is IR35; successful candidates need to be eligible to work in the UK and hold a UK driver’s license.
