We create technological solutions at any stage of the product development process, focusing on digitalization, e-mobility, and autonomous systems, mainly for the automotive, aerospace, and mechanical engineering sectors.
The Role: This is a varied, interesting, and often fast-moving role with a large degree of independence and scope for growth. You will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, pursuing, and securing profitable opportunities in the Defence, Government, and Aerospace sectors, delivering against the company’s strategic objectives and surpassing sales targets.
The role focuses on identifying, documenting, and presenting key business development and sales opportunities. It involves building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing key customer contacts, ensuring that market opportunities are technically and commercially understood and clearly presented to the wider Bertrandt team. You will participate in industry shows and conventions, enabling the generation of high-quality, commercially competitive bids in line with the company sales procedures.
What you bring along: The successful candidate will be organised and methodical in requirements capture and communication, personable, likeable, and driven, and have:
- Extensive knowledge of UKMOD Defence programs, aerospace industry, and key personalities at the budget holder/Influencer level
- Proven network and track record of sales to Defence and Aerospace
- Ability to manage Customer relationships by leveraging active networks and ensuring their domain is recognised as trustworthy, honest, and dedicated to delivering Customer satisfaction
- Demonstrable ability or track record in selling products and/or solutions to Domestic and/or Export Customers within Defence and Government
- Strong lead capture mind-set and an ability to focus on building the best offer to win a defined bid
- Strong negotiation skills and experience
- Ability to influence internal stakeholders to achieve the optimum Sales strategy for a given opportunity
- Able to generate and execute a sales/business development plan together with the managing director and global account managers
- Able to coordinate and drive the different proposals, call for tenders
- Ability to work in an uncertain environment
Travel: ability to travel within the country to key customer locations. Security clearance: eligible and able to acquire and keep a valid security clearance. The successful applicant MUST BE A BRITISH PASSPORT HOLDER and hold a UK driver's license.
