Oversee the daily production of bread, pastries, and baked goods, ensuring consistently high standards of quality, taste, and presentation while meeting agreed production schedules. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of bakers through clear direction, hands‑on support, regular briefings, and constructive feedback to drive performance and continuous improvement. Actively participate in the full baking process including preparation, mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking, ensuring strict adherence to recipes, traditional methods, and food safety standards. Manage operational efficiency by monitoring workflow, resolving production or equipment issues promptly, maintaining a clean and well‑organised bakery, and ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations. Support the wider success of the bakery through effective stock control, ingredient management, equipment care, and involvement in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members to build a strong, skilled workforce.

Qualifications

  • Have previous experience in a bakery or food production environment, with a solid understanding of artisan bread and pastry techniques.
  • Have strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team of bakers.
  • Be organised, efficient, and able to manage production schedules and workflows effectively.

Hours & Compensation

  • Hours: 45 hours per week - Any 5 days out of 7
  • Shift: 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM
  • Pay: £15.70 per hour
