We are seeking a Rights Assistant to join the team selling translation rights for Quadrille books to publishers around the world on a permanent basis.

About the team

Quadrille Publishing Ltd is a global, award-winning food and lifestyle publisher. We believe in the transformative power of books - our mission is to enrich readers’ lives, feed minds and fuel creativity. Home to experts, household names and bright new talent in cookery, craft, lifestyle and gift, we combine cutting-edge design with inspiring content for audiences around the world. Our emphasis is on high-quality illustrated books with integrity and longevity.

The role

Customer care is fundamental to this exciting and varied role, and you will be communicating with our overseas customers on a daily basis. You’ll manage our co-edition print fulfilment in all territories, co‑ordinating multiple projects at any one time and working to deadlines that enable the team to deliver a high quality of service to our customers. Reporting to the Head of Translations & Co-Editions and providing critical administrative and sales support to the fast‑paced Quadrille rights team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with overseas publishers and with production, publicity, design, editorial, contracts and finance teams to ensure the smooth running of co‑edition sales fulfilment
  • Liaising with overseas publishers and internal stakeholders to fulfil sub‑rights agreements
  • Leading fortnightly production co‑ordination team meetings
  • Collating and submitting digital sales materials and sample copies
  • Maintaining complete and correct rights data on company systems and generating departmental progress reports
  • Organising book fair presence and sales trips on behalf of the Quadrille Rights team

What you’ll bring

The role requires exceptional organisational and time management skills, and the ability to handle competing deadlines. Confident communication and ready collaboration are key attributes as you will be building close relationships with existing and potential customers, as well as multiple internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills – the ability to articulate technical detail clearly and nurture strong working relationships
  • Sophisticated organisation and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage a large and varied workload with flexibility and resourcefulness, and to prioritise effectively
  • IT literacy and the willingness to engage with all company systems and software tools, including AI
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset

If you meet these criteria and have a passion for books, together with an appetite for learning and getting to know people, we’d love to hear from you.

Disability Confident

If you have opted into our disability confident scheme, the above are the essential criteria you must meet to be considered for our interview scheme. Please note, there may be occasions where the volume of applicants means we can’t take all eligible candidates to interview.

For this role we expect the successful candidate to work from our London-based office at least three days per week (including Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and offer the remaining two days to be worked remotely.
