About the team
Fremantle’s global communications team is responsible for all PR and communications activity to support and grow the reputation of the business and its brand. It is also responsible for driving the communications agenda around the business’ drama, film, entertainment and documentaries slates.
Job overview
As Senior Corporate Communications Manager, you will be a key member of the global communications team, working with the Head of Global Corporate Communications to shape and deliver external communications strategies across Fremantle’s global footprint. Our work takes many forms, and no two days are the same. This is a great role for someone who thrives working across a busy, varied and global workload.
Here you’ll get to
- Work with key stakeholders to devise and implement a proactive corporate, commercial, brand strategy for Fremantle, including driving thought leadership across the business, identifying key communications positioning and a plan to communicate Fremantle’s strategy, our purpose and values.
- Lead on communications supporting major corporate announcements including new partnerships, joint ventures, business deals, commercial activity and M&A deals across Fremantle.
- Lead on communications supporting Fremantle’s sustainability and DEI agenda.
- Develop and deliver a proactive media agenda and identify positive news stories for Fremantle and maximise them via mainstream media and work with our digital teams to amplify on social.
- Play a key role in communicating Fremantle’s corporate messaging throughout the year, working closely with our parent company, RTL Group, on any shared issues and, with its investor relations team, in delivering financial reports four times a year.
- Developing an understanding of RTL and Bertelsmann strategies and liaising with their respective internal communications teams.
- Promote and defend Fremantle’s reputation globally through proactive media management and provide strategic leadership in the media handling of key reputational issues.
- Ensure that there are clear and appropriate systems and processes in place for measuring and evaluating impact.
- Oversee preparation of written materials for promotional purposes, including press releases, briefs, Q&As and campaign strategies to a high standard.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure that Fremantle and our senior management team are prepared for crisis media situations, and act as a key co-ordinator across the business during times of crisis.
- Horizon scanning and forward planning - looking ahead at consumer trends, changing legislation and growing issues/debates across social media.
- Liaising with Fremantle’s territory communications leads, managing monthly meetings between teams and supporting on materials for agendas and annual face to face comms summit.
- Input to industry groups where appropriate and ensure Fremantle is represented if required.
- Provide relevant and timely reporting across the business on media issues affecting Fremantle.
- As a global role, sometimes we may require you to be flexible and work outside of core office hours. Travel may be also required at times.
- Deputise of Head of Corporate Communications as needed.
We’re looking for
- Proven five years+ global corporate communications experience in the TV or media sector or relevant experience in a related field.
- Experience working across key industry markets and festivals.
- Excellent writing skills and demonstrable ability to adopt the right tone for the right message and audience.
- Superior editorial and journalistic skills: a keen eye for good stories and how to deliver them; able to plan ahead and deliver content.
- Strong contacts with relevant trade and B2B media.
- Skilled in issues management and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong current knowledge of media, consumer and industry-related trends.
- Exceptionally outgoing with ability to form relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong understanding of diversity, equity & Inclusion, sustainability and climate-related issues.
- Ability to operate within a global, complex business.
- Proactive and organised with a key attention to detail.
