We are recruiting a campaigns manager on a fixed term basis to work across an array of non-fiction titles here at Penguin General.
About the team
The Penguin General Communications team connects books with readers. Working across publicity, marketing and digital, we deliver audience-led campaigns for some of the most influential voices in publishing today.
We are a curious, collaborative team that starts with readers, stays alert to cultural change, and focuses effort where it will have the greatest impact. The role
You will be independently leading the strategy and executing marketing activity on a number of non-fiction titles. You will also be co-marketer on a select number of high priority titles, supporting the campaign lead on key elements of the campaign.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing, coordinating and delivering successful marketing strategies including identifying the audience, shaping the pitch, creative consumer message, planning media space and partnerships.
- Coordinating with relevant divisional departments, including sales, editorial, publicity and international.
- Allocate budget within own campaigns and continually review in line with expected and actual sales revenues.
- Developing specialist knowledge/responsibility areas, which could include digital publishing strategy, social media engagement and retailer-related marketing.
- Help create pitch documents for new authors and feed into acquisitions.
- Create, implement and measure content strategies for author and divisional social channels, newsletters and websites.
- Have a strong awareness of new digital opportunities and encourage team to explore new formats.
- Help set and contribute to divisional targets for online audience growth via your campaigns.
- Experiment with, measure and share best practice around best presenting your books on retailer online platforms.
- Attend group meetings as required to represent divisional perspective, share group plans within division.
- Liaison with Brand, International Digital Marketing and Sales.
- Represent division, marketing and the value of publishers at external meetings.
- Collaborate with marketing teams in other PRH divisions.

Salary
Circa £33,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
Hybrid working
While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from our London office in Embassy Gardens, attending key meetings and working as part of the team usually three days per week, with remote working on the other days.
