Job Description

Are you excited by the opportunity to shape how readers discover and buy books through Tik Tok Shop?

We have a new opportunity to join our Digital Marketing team here at Penguin Random House UK as a Tik Tok Shop e Commerce Executive.

This role will be based at our Embassy Gardens office in London with hybrid working, and is offered as a 6-month fixed term contract.

The team

Our e Commerce team sits within Digital Marketing and plays an important role in helping people discover and buy our books across online channels.

Tik Tok Shop is a growing area for us, and this role will help to support the day to day running and optimisation of activity across titles, promotions, affiliates and LIVE commerce.

You’ll be joining a team that is learning, testing and building as we go, so we’re looking for someone who is curious, organised and comfortable working in an area that is moving quickly.

The role

In this new role as Tik Tok Shop e Commerce Executive you’ll help shape our growth on Tik Tok Shop; supporting the set-up, delivery and optimisation of Tik Tok Shop activity across our storefronts, campaigns, creator collaborations and LIVE operations.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Setting up and managing product titles for creators, including commission rates and sample allocation.
  • Optimising Tik Tok Shop product pages with clear copy and strong imagery.
  • Supporting product selection, pricing, monthly discounting, gift with purchase set ups, Tik Tok Shop campaigns and ad hoc promotions.
  • Monitoring and reporting on affiliate activity and performance.
  • Building and updating affiliate webinar decks and maintaining rolling collaboration invitations for affiliate authors.
  • Supporting LIVE commerce activity, including creating assets, setting up dashboards ahead of broadcasts and operating the LIVE dashboard during broadcasts.
  • Supporting post-LIVE and post-campaign reporting, helping to identify key insights and learnings.
  • Monitoring customer reviews within Tik Tok Shop.
  • Tracking stock levels and communicating stock movements to divisions.

This is a hands on role with plenty of variety, so you’ll need to be comfortable with building relationships with different teams, keeping activity moving and adapting when priorities change.

  • What you’ll bring
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, happy to get stuck in, learn quickly and help to shape how we do things as Tik Tok Shop develops.
  • Experience of working with Tik Tok Shop, shoppable content, marketplace activity or other similar e Commerce platforms.
  • A strong interest in Tik Tok Shop from a commercial and shopping perspective (rather than purely from a social content creation perspective).
  • Strong coordination skills, with the ability to keep track of moving parts across campaigns, products, creators, affiliates and internal teams.
  • An analytical, curious and data driven approach, with confidence in using performance insight to understand what is working and where we can improve.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues across Digital Marketing, e Commerce and the wider business.
  • A flexible and organised approach, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Preferred criteria
  • Experience of the book category would be a real advantage, but isn’t essential.
  • Direct Tik Tok Shop experience would be ideal, but we’re also open to hearing from candidates with strong e Commerce experience, for example through Shopify or another marketplace platform, who can show a clear understanding of the Tik Tok Shop opportunity.

From £32,000 per annum and upwards depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important.

For this role, we expect that you’ll be based from our Embassy Gardens office in London, 2-3 days per week.

You should expect some ad hoc requests to work evenings from time to time in order to help support LIVE activations.

These requests will come with at least one weeks’ notice and your working hours can be adjusted flexibly in lieu to counter it.
