We are recruiting a field-based Building Surveyor to carry out site appraisals, structural condition surveys and investigation works to social housing assets in Wakefield and the surrounding areas. Established for over 30 years, our client is a UK based specialist contractor providing social housing clients with innovative structural repair solutions, including masonry reinforcement, remedial lintel installation, remedial wall tie installation and concrete repair & protection.

The role involves travelling to various locations in the region to conduct site appraisals and structural condition surveys to social housing assets with structural damage. The role also involves overseeing and recording subsequent structural investigation works required to diagnose the cause of defects, and wall tie condition surveys on live sites, including the marking up of addresses for remedial cavity wall tie works and proof testing. Mentoring by existing surveyors and full health and safety training will be provided, in addition to a company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop. Death in service cover also provided.

Qualifications
  • Ideally have a degree in building surveying and/or be able to demonstrate a proven track record in surveying
  • Have experience in structural repairs
  • Have a CSCS card
  • Be willing to travel
  • Be willing to work at height
  • Have knowledge of the Building Regulations, including the Building Safety Act
  • Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce a high standard of written reports
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with social housing residents
