Berrys is focused on land and property, offering services such as planning, architecture, building surveying, valuation, and business consultancy to help clients maximise their assets.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary development team consisting of engineers, surveyors, archaeologists, planners, and architects. The role offers a varied range of work and opportunities while providing autonomy and the chance to build connections.

A strategic requirement has arisen within the Rural Surveying team in the Towcester office for a Chartered Surveyor to grow Berrys' provision in the area. The ideal candidate will be MRICS-qualified with a strong understanding of the rural landscape and extensive experience in professional work. The successful candidate should have a track record of growing teams, creating brand awareness, and establishing strong networks and relationships.

Operational Requirements:
  • Be the internal figurehead of our Rural Surveyors offer within the Towcester office and be the go-to for technical expertise.
  • Lead on complex rural estate strategies, advising landowners, investors, and institutions on long-term asset optimisation.
  • Have hands-on experience in rural tenancy management, including Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies.
  • Identify new opportunities, build networks, and contribute to Berrys’ growth strategy in rural consultancy.
  • Deliver on obligations while coordinating and providing expert advice to clients.
  • Support team members and help develop their knowledge and understanding.
  • Ensure compliance with RICS standards, agricultural policy, and environmental legislation while anticipating regulatory changes.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial requirements and shape team operations to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
Strategic Requirements:
  • Quickly gain a strong understanding of the business model and service offerings.
  • Utilise a track record of marketing, business development, and brand awareness to grow our development offer within Northamptonshire.
  • Create a strong network of developers, landowners, property owners, occupiers, and investors to increase opportunities.
  • Leverage existing connections to enhance the level and quality of instructions within Northamptonshire and the wider business.
  • Understand our agency offer, identify opportunities and weaknesses, and implement a diversification plan.
  • Represent the company at industry events and build a strong professional network.
Person Specification:
  • MRICS-qualified (essential).
  • Strong background in rural professional practice and consultancy.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and grow client portfolios.
  • Demonstrable leadership and people development skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong financial awareness.
  • Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
  • Exceptional technical capability.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and confident operating at senior level.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Active user of professional networks and social media platforms (LinkedIn essential).
  • Full UK driving licence essential due to regular travel between sites and client meetings.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly Monday-Friday in line with our Agile Working Philosophy.
