Berrycove Limited is seeking a Shipping Supervisor with direct experience working in fresh or frozen food product shipping management to join its expanding farming operations in Tobago, offering significant advancement opportunities. This is a unique opportunity for nationals of Trinidad & Tobago or CARICOM Certificate holders to be part of the regional initiative toward building food security through advanced AgTech.

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for both the shipping and receiving operations in the company. You will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the Packaging and Transportation team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and oversee both outgoing and incoming shipping activities to ensure that everything received or shipped out is in perfect condition.
  • Read shipping notices, invoices, orders, and other documents to determine priorities and shipping methods needed to meet schedules.
  • Work directly with the Packaging Manager to coordinate timely deliveries.
  • Direct the movement of shipments from shipping points to storage and/or work areas.
  • Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
  • Decide the load limit of each truck used in the loading and delivery process.
  • Manage all financial transactions related to shipping services.
  • Monitor stock availability to reduce shortages.
  • Compile lists of unfulfilled orders for future reference and prepare incorrect item reports.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and observe all company safety standards.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the trucking and sea shipping industry – two (2) years in a management or supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation and procedures.
  • Knowledge of shipping industry regulations.
  • Extensive budgeting and reporting experience.
  • Basic knowledge in production planning.
  • Able to prioritise customer service and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business management, or similar preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Good negotiation skills for dealing with truck companies and vendors.
  • Good communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Well-organised with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Accountability and time management – takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, data record management, and project management.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools and electronic shipping software.
