Berrycove Limited is seeking Packaging Assistants with direct experience in commercial fresh food packaging and logistics environments to join its expanding farming operations in Tobago, offering significant advancement opportunities. This is a unique opportunity for nationals of Trinidad & Tobago or CARICOM Certificate holders to be part of the regional initiative toward building food security through advanced AgTech.
The Packaging Assistant is responsible for preparing shippable items by proper packaging, sealing, labeling, and preparing products for transportation. You will report to the Packaging Manager.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:- Observe all business and technical guidelines on packaging and complete weekly production reports.
- Pack, weigh and label packages for shipment or storage.
- Perform routine inspection on packaged products and report all issues to the Packaging Manager.
- Assist with the preparation of documents and maintaining records.
- Participate in training exercises on quality, safety, and customer service.
- Monitor inventory of materials and goods.
- Identify and dispose of defective products.
- Maintain a clean work environment and observe all company safety standards.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial processing and packaging of food-related items in a related environment.
- Basic knowledge in Packaging Safety, Quality, and Compliance.
- Basic knowledge in production planning.
- Minimum of Five (5) CSEC (CXC)/GCE O’levels subjects.
- Well-organized with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Continuous Improvement - Recommends new opportunities for packaging and product operations.
- Accountability and Time management – Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management, data record management, and project management.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools and packaging management software.
