Berrycove Limited is seeking a Facilities Manager with direct experience working in advanced commercial hydroponic greenhouse environments, to join its expanding farming operations in Tobago, offering significant advancement opportunities. This is a unique opportunity for nationals of Trinidad & Tobago or CARICOM Certificate holders to be part of the regional initiative toward building food security through advanced AgTech.

The Facilities Manager is charged with preserving the good condition of all infrastructure and MEP systems and ensuring that facilities are safe and well-functioning. You will report to the General Manager and work closely with the Farm Managers and the QHSE Consultant to ensure that employees are working under the best conditions and that all building systems are continually operating at peak condition.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise all supporting facilities staff and external contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Monitor contractor performance and facilitate corrective action where necessary to address any deficiencies in service quality.
  • Perform regular building inspections and plan and coordinate all installations (plumbing systems, electrical systems, structural systems, etc.), repairs, and renovations when needed.
  • Evaluate contracted goods and services, highlight instances where cost and/or quality falls below established specifications, and make recommendations where needed.
  • Monitor and review utility consumption to minimize costs.
  • Track invoices for goods and services and submit them for management's approval.
  • Maintain the company's records (financial and non-financial) in accordance with the approved policies and procedures.
  • Manage waste disposal systems and coordinate janitorial staff.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies and liaise with the QHSE Consultant to ensure that facilities are OSHE compliant as far as is reasonably practicable.
Key Requirements
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and trustworthiness and build effective relationships.
  • Exposure at a location associated with horticulture and commercial hydroponic greenhouse operations is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Facilities Management, Civil Engineering, Business Management Studies OR any related field.
  • Preference would be given to Facility Management Professionals (FMP) and Certified Facility Managers (CFM).
Skills and Abilities
  • Well-organized with the ability to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Accountability and Time management – Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong command of Inventory management and data record management.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools and software relevant to job functions such as Computer-aided facilities management (CAFM).
