My client in St Albans are seeking a numerate, literate and ideally experienced Weighbridge Clerk. You will have excellent maths to work out shipping container sizes and must have fantastic attention to detail as making a mistake can result in a very expensive bill! They are looking for someone on a temp to perm basis, who is down to earth, professional, hardworking, and not afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. Importantly, you must have your own car due to early starts. The role is wide ranging and will progress as the company grows. You will have a stable work history.

Duties include:

  • Operate weighbridge maintaining traffic flow
  • Check incoming loads meet compliance with licences and waste types
  • Record weighs by vehicle completing documentation, reporting contamination or non-conforming loads to the Manager
  • Maintain relationship with drivers, contractors, and customers ensuring compliance of documentation
  • Ensure vehicles have correct paperwork and codes
  • General admin duties and customer service to support Weighbridge Manager
  • Comply with health and safety, HR and environmental policies
  • Greet and assist visitors

Parking on site, with standard holidays and pension. Hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm with a lunch break. There is the requirement to cover colleagues on annual leave which can be an early start of 5:45 on those shifts.
