Our client, a small well established family run business, is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their busy and expanding team. This is very much a hands-on position with the ideal candidate being able to supervise and work in all areas of the business. Responsibility for 2 other members of staff. The work involves a high level of organisation as well as numeracy and being able to work to deadlines.

The annual salary for this position is between £36,000 and £38,000 pa depending on experience. 45 hour working week Monday to Friday with a start time of 05:00 am (which can be flexible) and a ½ hour unpaid lunch. Occasional weekend work.

The work will involve:

  • Making sure all company health and safety regulations and safe systems of work are adhered to.
  • Supporting with unloading of lorries using counterbalance forklift truck and pallet truck as well as the safe storage of goods.
  • Ensuring lorries are loaded correctly and safely for deliveries including organising paperwork and scheduling of delivery times for clients and suppliers.
  • Stock control and coalition of orders (making sure orders are packed and ready for loading).
  • Working in a safe manner and making sure the working environment is kept clean and tidy.
  • Smoothly and conscientiously working with other departments including front office, drivers, and production teams.
  • Communicating with customers about order requirements, queries, and complaints in a polite and methodical manner.
  • Responsibility for scheduling and logging vehicle maintenance checks and FTA compliance, and helping maintain vehicle road worthiness.
  • Any other work that needs doing that will help with the smooth running of the business.

The nature of this job entails manual handling. You will need to have a valid Counter Balance FLT licence. The position comes with standard benefits including free parking as well as full use of a company vehicle. The site is in a rural location with poor public transport links, so your own vehicle or valid driving licence is required.
