Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Recycling Centre Supervisor for our area based within the Staffordshire area. This is a temp to perm role for the right candidate. The successful candidate must have a clean UK Driving Licence.
Duties will include:
- Manage and oversee day to day site operations to ensure safe, professional and efficient service delivery.
- Promote high standards of customer service and maximised recycling whilst minimising contamination.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels including rota planning, sickness, holidays and agency cover.
- Ensuring full legal and contractual compliance.
- Manage employee relations matters and identify training and development requirements.
- Supervise haulage contractors.
- Monitor Duty of Care requirements, Waste Carrier licences and consignment documentation.
- Oversee the safe operation, inspection, maintenance and training related to specialist plant, equipment and vehicles.
- Ensure all Health and Safety policies, emergency plans and safe systems of work are adhered to.
- Record and support investigations into accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences.
- Maintain high site standards.
- Deal with any customer complaints, liaise with internal departments and maintain site records.
- Support investigations into alleged dishonesty, malpractice or breaches of conduct.
Qualifications required:
- COTC Level 4 in Waste Management Operations.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience of working in a waste management operation.
- Demonstrate experience of managing a team.
- Knowledge and experience of the Waste Management Legislation and Duty of Care requirements.
- Experience of working with Health and Safety legislation and regulations within waste operation.
- Experience of working within a team and on your initiative.
- Experience of a complex workload, achieving targets and responding to changing circumstances.
- Delivering excellent customer service.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast paced environment.
- Effective communicator both orally and in writing.
- Identify trends and assist in the development of financial, administration and technical support systems.
- Develop positive close working relationships with colleagues, partners and contractors.
- Excellent keyboard skills and be computer literate.
You will be working 5 days out of 7 which will include weekends and Bank Holidays. Previous experience is essential. Immediate starts.
