Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Cleaning Operative to work for a company in Reading.
Salary: £12.71
Location: Reading (RG14 5AW)
Hours: 20 per week (6am -10am)
Key Responsibilities of the Cleaning Operative:
- Dust, sweep, vacuum, mop floors, and empty waste bins.
- Wipe down desks, chairs, and other surfaces, ensuring any marks or stubborn stains are removed.
- Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, and associated washroom facilities.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and carry out spot cleaning where required.
- Operate electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish, and clean floors.
- Clean internal windows and glass surfaces, ensuring they are smear-free and properly dried.
- Replenish consumable items such as soap, toilet rolls, paper towels, and other hygiene products.
- Carry out deep cleaning tasks and special cleaning projects as requested.
- Use cleaning chemicals and agents safely and in accordance with instructions provided by the Supervisor.
- Move equipment and furniture for storage purposes or to support office reconfigurations and relocations.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety policies, company procedures, and industry best practices.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns identified during cleaning duties to the appropriate person.

- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in delivering high standards.
- Be physically capable of carrying out cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
