Berry Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced New Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated sales professional with experience within a service-based industry to play a key role in driving business growth, developing new opportunities and strengthening existing customer relationships.
The Role
As New Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and following up new business leads, developing proposals and working towards agreed sales targets. You will work closely with Commercial and Communal Service Managers to identify opportunities for new work, expand existing client relationships and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop and follow up new business leads and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Prepare quotes, costed proposals, presentations and sales materials.
- Contact clients to promote new company products and services.
- Negotiate and re-negotiate contracts and proposals through phone, email and face-to-face meetings.
- Develop and achieve agreed sales goals and targets.
- Attend networking events and industry events to generate new leads and promote the company.
- Work with internal departments to identify opportunities within existing client accounts.
- Research market trends and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Identify suitable media and publicity channels to support business development.
- Assist with financial forecasting, costings and project planning.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous sales or business development experience within a service industry.
- A strong understanding of market forces and business systems.
- Proven experience working towards and achieving sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and networking skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge of project planning and management.
- The ability to understand and use financial information for costings and forecasting.
- Excellent research, planning and organisational skills.
- Strong time management and the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the local area is essential.
