Berry Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Yard Driver to join a busy automotive logistics operation based in Thurleigh. This role involves driving and moving a variety of Class B vehicles around a large vehicle storage facility, ensuring vehicles are handled safely, parked correctly, and processed in line with site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Moving vehicles safely around the site and yard
- Driving a variety of manual and automatic vehicles
- Using handheld scanners to locate, scan, and track vehicle movements (training provided)
- Carrying out basic vehicle condition checks before movement
- Reporting any damage or defects to management
- Ensuring vehicles are parked in designated locations and to customer standards
- Following all site health & safety procedures and speed limits
- Supporting general yard operations as required
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (0 preferred)
- No DD, DR, IN, or TT99 convictions
- Comfortable driving both manual and automatic vehicles
- Previous driving experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to support different yard activities
- Minimum age of 21
What We're Looking For
As this is a fast-paced vehicle distribution environment, we are looking for individuals who are flexible, reliable, and safety-conscious. You will be responsible for moving a wide range of vehicles around the yard while maintaining high standards of vehicle handling and site safety.
First Aid and/or Fire Marshal certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
