We are recruiting reliable and hardworking School Cleaners to work at the school. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across designated areas of the school, ensuring a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for students and staff. This role requires someone who can work independently, follow cleaning schedules and support the Cleaning Supervisor when needed.
DBS Requirements
You MUST have an Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List Check. All staff must bring their DBS certificate to each shift and may be asked to show it on arrival. You cannot work without this.
Uniform Requirements
- Non-branded black T-shirt
- Dark-coloured trousers
- Nonslip safety shoes
- Black warm jumper (recommended in case the site is cold)
Key Responsibilities
General Cleaning Duties
- Vacuum cleaning soft and hard floors
- Spot cleaning spillages
- Wiping and polishing furniture, ledges, pipes, doors and paintwork
- Polishing door glass
- Emptying and cleaning bins
- Cleaning toilets, sanitary fittings and surrounding areas
- Mopping and spray-cleaning hard floor surfaces
- Straightening and tidying furniture
- Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets and communal areas
- Checking and closing windows and switching off lights after completion of work
Deep Cleaning Duties
- Annual deep cleaning of classrooms, staff rooms, kitchens, dining areas, food tech rooms and other frequently used spaces
- Termly upkeep cleaning, including high-level and low-level dusting
Equipment & Reporting
- Maintaining cleaning tools and products, ensuring stock levels are adequate
- Reporting hazards, defects or maintenance issues immediately to the Supervisor or Site Manager
- Following the cleaning schedule and maintaining standards set by the service specification
