The Food Waste Supervisor is a crucial role in the successful delivery of an exemplary borough wide day to day waste and recycling service, taking a leading role in representing the Council in an effective, professional and efficient manner.

The Food Waste Supervisor will ensure that the service standards delivered are above accepted industry standards and in line with the authority's corporate objectives and its aim to be one of the highest performing Councils in the UK.

The Food Waste Supervisor plays a key role in the co-ordination, planning and day to day management of the food waste collection service. They will directly manage a team of drivers and operatives with professionalism and operational drive, lead by example and be responsible for the safe operation of all associated vehicles, plant and equipment required to execute the day-to-day waste and recycling service.

The Food Waste Supervisor will ensure that a high level of customer focus and service is at the forefront of the delivery of the waste and recycling service. They will ensure that all role responsibilities and the level of performance detailed in this role profile are met or exceeded.

About you

You must have experience working in a supervisory or operational role, assisting with delivering recycling and waste services. Experience of leading a team, customer communications experience and a comprehensive understanding of waste collections are required.

You should have the ability to quickly form good working relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, and be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You should have the ability to attend work on-site in order to be accessible and on hand to provide support to team members as needed.
