Berry Recruitment are looking for a HGV Class 2 driver to work as part of their Streetcare team based in Peterborough.
The successful candidate will be required to operate a truck mounted road sweeper throughout the streets of Peterborough.
Working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 6.30am – 2.30pm and Friday 6.30am – 2pm
What does this role involve?
- Safely operating a truck mounted, left hand drive HGV road sweeper
- Working alone to set routes and rounds, sweeping the streets and curblines across Peterborough, inc high speed road under TM as required.
- Ensuring daily work schedules are followed, and to a consistent high standard
- Completing appropriate safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, and reporting defects as required.
- Tipping arisings at our waste transfer station in Fengate
- Cleaning and washing down sweeper at the end of each shift
- Liaising with members of the public, other team members, managers and clients in a professional and courteous manner
- Assisting with other areas of the Streetcare service as required.
What are we looking for?
- HGV Class 2 licence (Cat C) with Full CPC and experience of safely operating similar sized vehicles in busy urban environments
- Ability, desire and motivation to work alone and unsupervised
- Ability to follow work instructions, both written and oral, to a high standard
- Desire and ability to consistently work to a high standard with a flexible approach to work.
- Health and Safety awareness and the ability to follow safe working practices at all times
- Ability to understand and complete documents/forms relating to the service
- Local knowledge of the Peterborough area
Experience and Qualifications
- HGV Class 2 licence (Cat C) with Full CPC / Tacho
- Min 1 year experience of operating similar sized vehicles in urban environments
- Experience of operating truck mounted left hand drive sweepers preferable
