Fantastic Opportunity for Painters & Decorators with Berry Recruitment Berry Recruitment is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for 2 x Painters & Decorators to join our team, working with Southampton City Council. This 3-month rolling contract has the potential for full-time employment for the right candidates. Position: Painter & Decorator Location: Southampton Contract: 3-month rolling contract with potential for permanent placement Start Date: 22nd December 2025 Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week Benefits: Van & tools provided Uniform & PPE provided Driving license required Interview provided for right applicants Key Responsibilities: Undertake painting and decorating tasks within Southampton City boundary as part of the Responsive Repairs team. Carry out small works in other trade disciplines Liaise with residents, peers, and colleagues daily, ensuring excellent communication and customer service. Ensure the correct application of health & safety procedures and regulations, maintaining a safe working environment. Essential Skills & Requirements: Experience in property maintenance or practical understanding of the construction industry. Carry out minor repairs in various disciplines. Full UK driving license for driving council vehicles within the city. Recognised apprenticeship to a Level 3 qualification in Painting & Decorating or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience. Good hand skills, attention to detail, and ability to work accurately and efficiently. Ability to work in various heights and handle lifting. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients, including elderly or vulnerable residents.
