Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 16:00 (30-minute unpaid break)
  • Friday: 07:00 - 15:00 (30-minute unpaid break)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a dedicated team delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services across multiple school locations. This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys working outdoors as part of a team. Although based in Inverkeithing (KY11), you will be part of a mobile grounds maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • General grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and clearance of leaves and litter
  • Setting out, maintaining, and lining sports pitches (grass and tarmac)
  • Maintenance of artificial and synthetic pitches
  • Horticultural duties such as planting, pruning, and seeding
  • Tree care activities
  • Erecting and dismantling equipment
  • Painting and maintenance of equipment
  • Carrying out minor civil works (e.g. repairs to slabs, kerbs, manholes, and surfaces)
  • Operating light plant and powered tools
  • Daily checks of vehicles, tractors, and cutting equipment
  • Seasonal duties including gritting and snow clearance (weather dependent)

Candidate Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (trailer towing experience advantageous)
