Berry Recruitment is currently recruiting a Sweeper Driver on behalf of our client based in Exeter. This is a temporary position offering consistent hours and the opportunity to play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces.
Working Hours
You will work Monday to Friday on a rota basis: 7:00am - 3:30pm, or 6:00am - 2:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Working independently or as part of a team within an allocated area, your duties will include:
- Removing litter and emptying litter bins as required
- Carrying out basic graffiti and fly-post removal, weed trimming, and general cleansing duties
- Cleaning public toilets and car parks when necessary
- Undertaking basic inspections of facilities and reporting any maintenance issues
- Identifying further work required for specialist teams (e.g. grounds maintenance, mechanical sweeping, tree work, large-scale graffiti removal, deep cleaning)
- Reporting issues affecting the appearance and safety of public spaces, including fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, damaged street furniture, stray dogs, or misuse of council land
- Completing basic records such as time sheets, daily checks, and inspection logs
- Following all health and safety guidelines.
