We are currently recruiting Street Cleansing Operatives to support essential cleansing services and help keep the city clean, safe, and presentable for residents and visitors.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleansing services within an allocated area, working either independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Removing litter and emptying litter bins as required
- Carrying out basic graffiti removal, fly-posting removal, weed trimming, and general street cleaning
- Cleaning public toilets, car parks, and public spaces when required
- Undertaking basic inspections of facilities and reporting any maintenance issues
- Identifying and reporting issues such as fly-tipping, damaged street furniture, abandoned vehicles, stray dogs, or illegal use of council land
- Highlighting additional work required for specialist teams (e.g. grounds maintenance, mechanical sweeping, deep cleaning)
- Completing basic records including timesheets and daily checks
- Following all health and safety guidelines
