Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Sweeper Driver for our client based in Exeter.
Hours: Either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday rota.
Salary: Β£13.05 per hour
Contract type: Ongoing temporary contract
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To be responsible within an identified area either solo working or as part of a team for:
- Removing litter and emptying litter bins at regular intervals as demand indicates.
- Removing small amounts of graffiti, fly post removal, trimming or removing weed growth and cleaning public toilets or car parks, as necessary.
- Undertaking basic condition inspections of facilities and reporting any obvious maintenance issues.
- Identifying additional reactive work for specialist teams such as grass or hedge cutting, maintenance tasks, mechanical sweeping, tree work, large-scale graffiti removal, hot wash, etc.
- To report issues adversely affecting the look and feel of the public realm such as damaged street scene or greenspace furniture and signs, fly tipping, stray dogs, abandoned cars, illegal use of council land, etc.
- To undertake training on the safe use of equipment and safe working practices and to achieve a consistently good performance.
- To undertake work in a safe and effective manner at all times, following City Council policies and procedures, and to be responsible for your safety and that of the public.
- To undertake basic recording of information, e.g. play equipment checks, timesheets, daily optimisation sheets.
- To work flexibly across shift patterns when required to meet the demands of the service.
- Such other duties relevant to the post and grading relating to the job description overall which may from time to time be deemed appropriate.
