Amenities Technician Camborne, Cornwall A local authority is seeking an Amenities Technician to join its Facilities team, supporting the maintenance of public spaces, green areas, buildings and Council-owned assets. This is a temporary role to cover sickness. The technicians work on a rota basis in the following pattern: Week 1 - 40 hours: 08.00 -17.00, Monday to Thursday, Friday 08.00 - 14.30. Week 2 - 34 hours: 08.00-17.00 Monday to Thursday, Friday off. (30-minute break on all working days.) Key Responsibilities General maintenance of public spaces, buildings and facilities Grass cutting and maintenance of footpaths and verges Horticultural duties including planting, pruning, weeding and floral displays Litter collection, recycling and pressure washing Operating and maintaining tools, plant and machinery Carrying out safety and compliance checks Maintaining street furniture, memorials and amenity areas Supporting play equipment inspections Working with community groups and supporting local events Maintaining appropriate records and following health & safety procedures About You Practical experience in landscaping, horticulture, building maintenance or a similar role Good understanding of outdoor health & safety and risk assessment Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors Good communication skills and a positive approach to public enquiries Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic Full UK driving licence essential Desirable: NVQ Level 2 Horticulture, strimming/brushcutting, First Aid, ROSPA, tractor or towing qualifications.
