A respected and friendly accountancy practice in Cornwall is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their growing team. This role offers autonomy, development and the chance to work closely with Client Managers and Senior Accountants to deliver high-quality accounting support.
The Role
- Draft annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and rentals
- Prepare corporation tax calculations & CT600 for review
- Draft personal tax returns & SA100
- Finalise client packs ready for submission
- Maintain CRM tasks to ensure visibility across all jobs
- Liaise with clients for basic queries
- Complete VAT returns
You’ll take ownership of your own accounts, producing accurate work ready for senior review and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
What You’ll Bring
- AAT-qualified
- Experience producing accounts, VAT returns and tax returns
- Practice background
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Confident using accounting software
- Organised, proactive and able to meet deadlines
Software
- Experience with: Xero, DEXT, TaxCalc and other accounting platforms.
Working Hours & Flexibility
- 37.5 hours per week
- Flexible start/finish times between 8:30am and 6pm
