Job Purpose
We are looking for 2 reliable Street Cleansing Operatives to join our team in Rushmoor, GU15, on an ongoing temporary basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a range of street cleansing duties to ensure public areas are maintained to a high standard in line with contract requirements and specifications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out daily street cleansing duties, including manual sweeping, scraping and weeding.
- Complete both programmed and responsive cleansing tasks as required.
- Operate and assist with the use of relevant machinery and equipment following appropriate training.
- Understand and work in accordance with contract requirements and service specifications.
- Identify key performance requirements and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
- Report progress, issues and any matters affecting service delivery to the Line Manager.
- Carry out daily inspections of machinery, equipment and vehicles before and after use, reporting any defects or concerns.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of machinery, equipment and vehicles.
- Work effectively as part of a team and contribute ideas for improving service delivery.
- Ensure all Health and Safety procedures and requirements are followed at all times.
- Undertake any relevant training required to develop skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a professional and presentable appearance.
- Provide a courteous and professional service when dealing with members of the public and clients.
Experience and Skills
- Previous experience in street cleansing, grounds maintenance, environmental services or a similar outdoor role is desirable.
- Experience of manual sweeping, scraping and weeding would be advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Willingness to undertake further training as required.
Additional Requirements
- A clean driving licence is essential for candidates required to undertake driving duties.
- Applicants must be able to work the required hours of 06:30-15:00.
