Our client, a food production company based in Bishops Stortford, are currently looking for a Lab Technician. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 14:00. The pay rate is £13.86 per hour and includes 33 days of annual leave (including bank holidays).
The purpose of this role will be to comply with all site procedures to carry out testing of raw materials, milled products, and finished goods against specification. Your duties will include:
- Complying with site and business operational, health, safety & environmental, and food safety procedures, work instructions, and safe systems of work.
- Carrying out the testing, recording, and where appropriate, the escalation of results following the testing of raw materials, milled flours, and finished products.
- Accurately recording all due diligence and other operational data as required.
- Demonstrating to auditors (internal & external) as well as customers, the food-safe manufacture of finished products.
- Supporting the Food Safety and Quality Compliance Manager and the wider team.
- Taking a proactive approach in the identification, communication, and achievement of continuous improvement.
- Carrying out other duties on site as requested by the Site Management Team.

- Ability to multi-task and problem solve under pressure.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (including Word and Excel).
- Attention to detail.
- Basic report writing.
- Good communication (written, verbal, and listening).
