Berry Recruitment are looking for a Class 2 Driver in the Basingstoke area to carry out refuse/recycling duties as per the Contract requirement and specification.
What you will be doing:
- Carrying out both programmed and responsive refuse & recycling requirements daily with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
- Understanding Contract requirements and the specification of all refuse & recycling.
- Identifying and understanding key performance indicators and ensuring that these are met.
- Regularly reporting to line manager progress on works and any matters affecting delivery.
- Completing works as per schedule, routes, and procedures, updating/adjusting work routines to deal with interruptions such as road closures, traffic problems, weather conditions, and quantities of detritus/litter present.
- Using in-cab technology/mobile devices as directed by the Contract.
- Completing relevant templates and submitting worksheets in real time.
- Working as part of the team, putting forward suggestions and ideas for improvements in service provision.
- Responsible for the daily inspection and reporting procedure for machinery, prior and on completion of usage, including vehicles.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
- Meeting all Health and Safety requirements.
- Ensuring standards of work are of the highest order and in accordance with professional and contractual requirements.
- Undertaking all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to the receptacles and/or articles left for removal.
- Discharging waste/refuse at the delegated tipping site ensuring actions both on the road and within the facility are in accordance with statutory and local traffic management measures.
- Weighing and recording all waste discharged ensuring waste transfer notes, receipts, and/or Weigh Bridge tickets are returned to the supervisor where applicable.
- Undergoing specific training to improve skill levels and knowledge of Contract requirements as and when defined training is identified as being required or available.
- Maintaining excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public.
- Always maintaining a presentable appearance.
What you will need:
- HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicles) licence; C Driving Licence
- Driving licence with 6 points or less
- Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Some previous experience in Refuse & Recycling desirable.
Shift: 06:00 - 14:30 Monday to Friday.
