Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to join our client’s team in Oxford
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technician or Mechanic to join an established business and play a key role in maintaining their HGV fleet.
The Role
- Location: Bampton, Oxfordshire
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Salary: £45,000+ per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
As an HGV Technician / Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles
- Diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical faults
- Completing 6-weekly inspections
- Carrying out brake testing
- Preparing vehicles for MOTs
- Roadside Breakdowns
- Ensuring all vehicles are safe, roadworthy and compliant
- Working efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
- Maintaining accurate records of all work completed
- Completing all relevant paperwork relating to PMI inspections
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or similar
- Excellent knowledge of HGV mechanics
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
- A full UK driving licence
- A Class 2 licence would be desirable but is not essential
- Their own small hand tools
- Ability to work individually
- A reliable and proactive approach to their work
- Larger tools will be supplied.
