Berry Recruitment are urgently seeking an experienced Thermal Plant Operator. This position offers a key role in safer, efficient plant operations at a leading Energy‑from‑Waste facility.

The Role

As a Thermal Plant Operator, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the EfW facility, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations across all modes — including steady state, start‑up, shutdown and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with Environmental Permit requirements
  • Report any non‑compliance or incidents to the Shift Team Leader
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures
  • Participate in site HSE initiatives and forums
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Team to optimise plant performance
  • Coach and mentor new team members on EfW operations
  • Complete accurate shift handovers, logs and maintenance requests

Shift Pattern

2 Days / 3 Nights / 4 Off / 3 Days / 2 Nights / 5 Off / 2 Days / 2 Nights / 12 Off – A rotating pattern covering both days and nights.
