Berry Recruitment are currently looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our client's team working within Wythenshawe.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:15am - 3pm, 36.25 hours per week

Contract Length: Initially temporary for 12 weeks with the potential to then go permanent for the right candidate!

Role Purpose

To deliver a range of grounds maintenance tasks ensuring outdoor spaces remain safe, clean, and visually maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grass cutting, strimming, edging, hedge trimming.
  • Litter collection, leaf clearance, and general site tidiness.
  • Shrub and flowerbed maintenance.
  • Weed control using manual or chemical methods (depending on qualification).
  • Assist with use of grounds machinery and tools.
  • Follow daily schedules and meet performance targets.
  • Support seasonal activities such as winter gritting and planting.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and use PPE appropriately.

Experience

  • Experience in grounds or outdoor labour roles.
  • Able to use common grounds equipment (strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters).
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.
  • Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented.
  • Full UK drivers license.
  • PA1/PA6 certification.
  • Experience with ride‑on mowers.
