Berry Recruitment are currently looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our client's team working within Wythenshawe.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:15am - 3pm, 36.25 hours per week
Contract Length: Initially temporary for 12 weeks with the potential to then go permanent for the right candidate!
Role Purpose
To deliver a range of grounds maintenance tasks ensuring outdoor spaces remain safe, clean, and visually maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Grass cutting, strimming, edging, hedge trimming.
- Litter collection, leaf clearance, and general site tidiness.
- Shrub and flowerbed maintenance.
- Weed control using manual or chemical methods (depending on qualification).
- Assist with use of grounds machinery and tools.
- Follow daily schedules and meet performance targets.
- Support seasonal activities such as winter gritting and planting.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and use PPE appropriately.
Experience
- Experience in grounds or outdoor labour roles.
- Able to use common grounds equipment (strimmers, blowers, hedge cutters).
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather.
- Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented.
- Full UK drivers license.
- PA1/PA6 certification.
- Experience with ride‑on mowers.
