Berry Recruitment are looking for 3.5t delivery & install drivers to work for a large well-established electrical retailer at the Hedge End depot.

Shift begins at 6am; the end time varies depending on daily deliveries. Availability to work some weekends is required as the role operates 5 days a week out of 7. This is a contract role with the potential to transition to a permanent position for the right candidates.

Please note you will need a BASIC DBS CHECK for this role; Berry Recruitment can arrange this if you do not already have one. Before starting you will need to complete an induction that includes a driving assessment.

Main Duties

  • Safely deliver, install, and demonstrate white goods, televisions, and cookers in customers' properties.
  • Engage with customers, keeping them informed and ensuring delivery and installation are carried out to the highest standard.
  • Maintain regular contact with the site throughout the day to accommodate any changes to a customer delivery request.
  • Use the handheld operating device (Savvy) correctly, completing visits and obtaining customer signatures.
  • Liaise with manufacturers at the point of delivery when necessary.
  • Meet the physical requirements for this role, including heavy lifting.
  • Manage changing volumes of load held in the vehicle during the day – regularly review, adjust, and secure the load to ensure safety while using equipment provided (straps and barrows).

Requirements

  • Previous experience driving a 3.5t vehicle with no more than 3 points.
  • Strong customer service skills at all times.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting.
