Join a Busy and Essential Waste Management Team
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking HGV Class 2 Driver to join a busy refuse and recycling operation based in Wandsworth, SW17. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver looking for ongoing work with the potential to secure a permanent position. This role involves driving refuse collection vehicles as well as supporting the loading team when required to ensure collection routes are completed safely, efficiently, and within service level agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections safely and efficiently
- Operate collection vehicles and machinery with a full understanding of all equipment and processes
- Assist with refuse loading duties when required to support the team and complete routes on time
- Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
- Complete all paperwork and collection records accurately and in real time
- Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use, reporting any defects promptly
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness for vehicles and equipment
- Follow safe manual handling and lifting procedures at all times
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with members of the public and other road users
- Work in accordance with all health and safety procedures and company policies
What We're Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
- Willingness to assist with refuse loading duties as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and hardworking
- Flexible approach with a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
- Previous waste management or refuse collection experience is advantageous but not essential
- Clean driving licence desirable
