Responsibilities include managing the resources of the shift to ensure all goals are achieved, including safety, quality, production, and cost. Oversees training, evaluation, and performance reviews of shift personnel. Performs administrative duties such as maintaining employee attendance records, initiating personnel action forms, writing counseling forms, vacation requests, and other reports as needed. Actively leads risk assessment activities by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health, or safety risks. Accountable for the safety of all employees through active engagement in safety activities and clear communication of safe work expectations. Helps maintain the shift safety program to minimise accidents and injuries and ensure a safe working environment.

Must know blown film, troubleshooting, extruder drives, heaters, and controls. Constantly follows quality and production and makes necessary decisions to maintain maximum rates with high quality efficiently. Coordinates with Maintenance for scheduled shutdowns and repairs to achieve necessary maintenance work with minimum operational losses. Inspects each line and checks that the product is being run according to job specifications; takes corrective action to resolve problems. Closes out production work orders and records production on a daily report. Forecasts equipment for future orders. Reads work orders and checks production reports on the lines. Verbally communicates with all Shift employees, Production Manager, Management Staff, and Maintenance. Leads all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.). Promotes a Safe and Productive β€œTEAM” work environment.

Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions in a timely manner. Ensures proper training and development of all assigned employees. Sets goals for their organisational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving them. Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed. Ensures efficient and economical utilisation of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department. Communicates between shifts and departments to anticipate and prepare for any possible production concerns. Accurately records daily production in the computer and submits various reports to the Production Manager. Maintains good employee relations by stimulating maximum efficiency and productivity through good communication and regular performance reviews. Provides training as appropriate (i.e. toolbox meetings, safety, etc.). Keeps accurate records including training, production, and other related activities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assigns work and provides technical assistance to meet production schedule and inventory requirements. Performs daily reviews/analysis to determine status against production goals. Ability to lead teams, committees, and special projects as required. Daily reporting of downtime, efficiency, and production scrap. Minimises scrap and maximises efficiency on each shift. Prepares for and monitors product changeovers, verifies line clearances. Ensures completion of daily and weekly preventive maintenance on shift. Responsible for identifying and reacting to various sounds and alarms. Provides appropriate and timely feedback on performance. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma/GED. Must have three years of experience as a production supervisor or two years as a Berry Production Team Leader. Minimum of 5 years' manufacturing experience required. Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Must be able to monitor quality of machine output. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. Able to work in a production environment, recognising various sounds and alarms. Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives. Must perform all duties in a safe and effective manner. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Present a positive and professional attitude at all times. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and leadership skills. Be punctual and maintain a good attendance record. Uses good judgment. Able to adapt to changes in the work environment. Able to define problems and seek appropriate help for resolution. Able to coordinate multiple tasks.
