Responsibilities
- Responsible for reviewing production orders and beginning the process of starting line up or keeping lines in production.
- Responsible for all processes, equipment and machine line operators (MLO’s) on assigned lines.
- Must meet production, quality and quantity standards.
- Train machine line operators (MLO’s) on all procedures associated with ISO and its guidelines.
- Assures proper set-ups and quality checks are performed.
- Organizes work for smooth operations.
- Completes tally sheets, documentation on work orders and paperwork for completion on quantities.
- Assists in training machine line operators (MLO’s) on how to do quality checks, gauge, length, width and weight.
- Trains machine line operators (MLO’s) on how to drop the rope and thread up the post gussets and bag machines.
- Makes necessary adjustments and settings to equipment so product is in compliance with work order.
- Can operate all aspects involved in a start-up, process control blending system, recalibration and control panel, printing press and bag separator.
- Must be able to troubleshoot the majority of problems on extrusion, bag machines and winders.
- Adheres to company’s PPE guidelines.
- Advises machine line operators (MLO’s) of order changes to ensure proper materials are ready for the new order.
- Responsible for training (MLO’s) on the required processes of the blown film production.
- Understand resin system and the various resins used for their application.
- Notify Assistant Supervisor or Supervisor of equipment and/or quality problems.
- Responsible for running lines efficiently to minimize scrap.
- Assists other machine line operators (MLO’s) and operators when lines go down or there is a manufacturing problem.
- Responsible for moving equipment with a pallet jack or forklift from the production area during changeovers.
- Routinely feeds the automatic scrap recovery system to limit the amount of scrap.
- Relief machine line operators for breaks and lunch periods.
- Work as machine line operator as needed.
- Replaces broken or worn out hand equipment.
- Ensure that machine line operators have all of their PPE available and in use.
- Must be willing to work twelve-hour shifts and overtime when needed.
- Must read work orders and check resins and concentrates for the lines.
- Must move pallets and skids of resins/concentrates to designated areas using a pallet jack or forklift.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, preferred.
- Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
- Extrusion experience preferred.
- Troubleshooting extrusion equipment preferred.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Experience in a team-oriented environment a plus.
- Working knowledge of extrusion/converting equipment and processes desired.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
