Overview

The bpi division sits within the Engineered Materials Division of Berry Global Inc., a US listed company with an annual turnover of around $13bn and over 40,000 employees.

The bpi division has manufacturing sites across the UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, and Romania.

Berry Leominster is a polythene extrusion plant that manufactures agricultural films.

The business is currently recruiting for Extrusion Operators working 12-hour shifts on a 2 days / 2 nights rota basis.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

1. Experience in the operation of polythene extrusion equipment.
2. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (min 2 years experience); training will be given.
3. Good team working and communication skills.
4. Positive and pro-active attitude.
5. Able to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
6. Ability to handle multiple priorities to ensure deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work safely in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work.
• Report all hazards and act on them accordingly.
• Maintain housekeeping on all extrusion lines, recycling units, and packing automation.
• Monitor product quality and ensure all quality checks and testing are carried out in line with specifications.
• Monitor and manage line output rates, utilization, and scrap levels against plan/targets on each line.
• Operate extrusion machinery and monitor and manage recycling equipment on each unit.
• Ensure accurate data is recorded and inputted correctly.
• Ensure a good handover of information to the incoming operator.
