The Events & Experiences (E&E) department is responsible for selling, managing and operating a successful service delivery of all social, corporate, ticketed and wine education events that take place within the Berry Bros. & Rudd portfolio. This role will be responsible for selling, planning and managing social and corporate events at our home at No3, St James’s. The role will also be hosting wine and spirit events and supporting the management of producer events, creating long term value within the wider BB&R business.

What you will do

  • Bring customers together through the pleasure of sharing the finest wines and spirits whilst creating links and connections across all divisions to bring the best of BB&R to life.
  • Promote, sell and control the resources of all events and to achieve or better budgeted revenue, cost and profit targets.
  • Maintain a high level of communication, ensuring Event Orders / Contracts are prepared and distributed accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist the Senior Experiences Executive with promoting, planning and coordinating corporate and private events bookings.
  • Plan, manage and host events and experiences at No.3 St James St. including Producer Tasting.
  • Support the Experiences team with the organising and hosting some ticketed experiences when necessary.
  • Ensure client and guest (both internal & external) satisfaction at all times.
  • Consistently provide and offer professional, passionate and engaged service.

Administration and Sales:

  • Respond to all customer enquiries regarding events and experiences in a prompt and polite manner.
  • Assist with overseeing the Events diary, ensuring that bookings are accurate and up to date.
  • Meet with clients, show them around the facilities, prepare quotations accordingly and help finalise arrangements.
  • Organise all allocated events, from booking to post-event feedback, including maintaining the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication.
  • Ensure regular liaison with the kitchen and wine cellar regarding client requests and dietaries/allergens, food quality, customer feedback, bookings, stock levels, wastage, ordering etc.
  • Monitor the invoicing instructions produced for each function to ensure accuracy and prompt settlement of accounts.
  • Swiftly follow up on any outstanding accounts and take ownership of debt for allocated events.
  • Entertain existing clients and prospective clients as necessary to achieve goodwill and secure business accordingly.

Hosting:

  • Host a range of events and experiences, both virtual and in person, on behalf of Berry Bros. & Rudd, including tastings for corporate groups and introductory wine tastings, including evenings and some Saturdays.
  • Assist in supporting other hosts from across the business on more in-depth tastings.
  • Host events with wine and spirit producers for customers.
  • Support with the Hosting of ticketed experiences when necessary.

What you will bring to the role

  • WSET Diploma, WSET Level 3 will be considered.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced event sales.
  • Experience hosting wine events.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • Experience of working with high net worth customers as well as corporate customers.
  • Proven ability to plan and organise events effectively, with an acute sense of detail.
