The job in a nutshell
The Content Lead is responsible for leading BB&R's content strategy, planning and creation across the customer journey, ensuring content supports commercial objectives, strengthens brand authority and delivers exceptional customer experiences.
As part of the newly created Studio function, the role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, leading the content team and working closely with Design, Marketing, Membership, Digital, Buying and Events teams.
Responsible for ensuring content is relevant, discoverable and effective across all channels, the role uses customer insight, SEO best practice, AI-driven search trends and performance data to inform decision-making.
The Content Lead will play a key role in bringing BB&R's tiered customer proposition to life, creating engaging content that supports customer acquisition, engagement and retention while reinforcing BB&R's position as the trusted authority in fine wine and spirits.

What you will do
- Content Strategy & Planning
- Develop and deliver BB&R's content strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs and brand priorities.
- Create integrated content plans that support key business areas including Membership, Retail, Fine Wine, Spirits and Events.
- Develop content that supports BB&R's tiered customer proposition, delivering value across different customer segments and lifecycle stages.
- Work closely with the Senior Creative Designer and Studio team to develop engaging social-first content across static, video and emerging formats.
- Ensure content supports customer acquisition, engagement, retention and advocacy.
- Maintain oversight of the content calendar, ensuring priorities are aligned with campaign, trading and membership plans.
- Ensure content is effectively adapted and distributed across multiple channels and audiences.
- Content Creation & Delivery
- Lead the creation and delivery of high-quality content across digital, social, video, CRM, website, editorial and experiential channels.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of BB&R's organic social media content
- Ensure content is engaging, informative, on-brand and aligned to BB&R's tone of voice.
- Partner closely with the Senior Creative Designer and wider Studio team to deliver integrated campaigns and customer experiences.
- Support the development of content across a variety of formats including written, video, social, audio and emerging channels.
- Oversee content governance, quality standards and editorial consistency
- Contribute to key content pieces and business-critical communications where required.
- Search, Discoverability & Content Performance
- Lead BB&R's content optimisation approach across traditional search, AI-powered search and emerging discovery platforms.
- Ensure content follows SEO best practices and is structured to maximise discoverability, visibility and engagement.
- Monitor developments in AI, LLMs and changing search behaviours to ensure content remains effective and accessible.
- Work closely with Digital and Marketing teams to improve organic performance and customer acquisition through content.
- Use performance data, audience insights and analytics to continuously optimise content effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve content journeys, engagement and conversion across digital channels.
- Membership & Customer Engagement
- Work closely with the Membership Manager and Membership Programming Lead to create content that enhances the customer proposition and membership experience.
- Support the delivery of content that strengthens customer engagement, loyalty and retention.
- Develop content that communicates the value of membership, exclusive experiences and customer benefits.
- Ensure content supports community building and deepens customer relationships with BB&R.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop the content team, providing coaching, guidance and support.
- Foster a collaborative and creative team culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Membership, Digital, Buying and Events to ensure content supports shared objectives.
- Champion best practice in content creation, editorial planning and audience engagement.
- Build strong relationships across the business to ensure content remains relevant, effective and commercially impactful.

- Experience leading content planning, creation and optimisation within a marketing, content or editorial environment.
- Experience developing multi-channel content strategies that drive engagement and support commercial objectives.
- Proven experience using customer insight, analytics and performance data to inform content decisions and improve results.
- Experience creating content across multiple formats including digital, social media, video, website, CRM and editorial channels.
- Experience managing content calendars and coordinating content delivery across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience leading, coaching or developing content teams.
- Experience delivering SEO-focused content strategies and improving organic performance.
- Experience working with premium, luxury, hospitality, retail or membership-led brands would be advantageous.

- Professional qualifications in content marketing, SEO, digital marketing or analytics would be advantageous.
