We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Officer (Service Charges) to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic accounting principles and understanding of property management finance processes and who is passionate about delivering accurate financial information and excellent customer service.

You will support the administration, calculation, monitoring, and reconciliation of service charges, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant Property Institute regulations.

About the Assistant Finance Officer role:

This role will:

  • Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of service charge accounts;
  • Support data collection and reporting for budget setting and monitoring;
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and data analysis;
  • Respond to service charge queries from leaseholders, internal and external stakeholders;
  • Process purchase ledger invoices accurately and reconcile supplier statements.
Your Experience:

Successful candidates will need:

Essential:
  • Educated to GCSE standard including English and Maths at a minimum Grade C;
  • AAT qualification or working towards a finance qualification is desirable;
  • Experience working in a finance or accounting environment;
  • Good understanding of financial processes and reconciliations.
Desirable:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications;
  • Effective communication and customer service skills;
  • Some knowledge of setting up and monitoring Direct Debits;
  • A working knowledge of Qube software or similar software;
  • Knowledge of a similar type and size organisation.
